AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB

AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB is a Horizon Europe project aimed at creating a network of hubs of excellence in smart agriculture and the circular bioeconomy in Poland, Latvia, Ukraine, Belgium, and Spain. The project brings together science, business, public institutions, and citizens to develop innovation, build capacity, and support the sustainable transformation of the agri-food sector, especially in expanding countries and emerging ecosystems.

Strategic goal of the project

AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB focuses on creating innovative and sustainable solutions for the agricultural sector by:

  • development of a circular bioeconomy,

  • introduction of modern technologies,

  • strengthening scientific research,

  • creating new business models,

  • supporting entrepreneurship and knowledge sharing.

The project aims to increase the efficiency of agricultural production and ensure the conservation of natural resources and biodiversity.

Main objectives

GOAL 1. Development of interregional and cross-border scientific cooperation

Developing a long-term action plan for research and innovation in sustainable and circular agriculture.

GOAL 2. Strengthening the research capacity of participating countries

Creating and scaling innovative business cases tailored to regional needs and supporting innovative SMEs.

GOAL 3. Transfer of knowledge and best practices between regions

Conducting training sessions, educational events, networking, and mentoring support—especially for new ecosystems in Ukraine.

GOAL 4. Development of entrepreneurship and innovation in the agricultural sector

Launch of open innovation and entrepreneurial mentoring programs.

GOAL 5. Support sustainable technologies and a circular agricultural economy

Creating financial mechanisms to support SMEs working on smart technologies and circular solutions in the agricultural sector.

Project impact

Economic impact

The project stimulates the development of new businesses, job creation, and support for SMEs. Innovative technologies and circular solutions increase the competitiveness of agribusiness, reduce costs, and increase production efficiency.

Ecological impact

AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB promotes the implementation of technologies that reduce the use of chemicals, improve waste management, support biodiversity and the development of renewable energy (biogas, bioenergy), which reduces greenhouse gas emissions.

Social impact

The project raises awareness in rural communities, encourages people to engage in new activities, promotes professional development, and creates new employment opportunities. This strengthens social cohesion and raises environmental awareness.

Innovative impact

The project promotes the introduction of modern agricultural technologies, innovations in the bioeconomy, and the development of start-ups and SMEs. New practices in crop cultivation, waste management, and energy efficiency can serve as a model for other regions of Europe.
