On 20 November in Lviv, on the initiative of the Department of Enterprise Economics, Innovation and Agricultural Advisory Services named after I. V. Popovich at the S.Z. Gzhytskyi Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology, a round table discussion was held on ‘Ensuring the Innovative Development of the Agri-Food Sub-sector of the National Economy’.
The round table was attended by representatives of state authorities, academics and practitioners, farmers from the Lviv region, the Chairman of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber, Ihor Vuytsyk, and the authorised representative of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber, Taras Martyniak.
Ihor Dvilyuk, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work at the S.Z. Hrytskyi Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology, and Oleg Hrymak, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management and Associate Professor, addressed the participants with welcoming remarks.
In her speech, Lyudmyla Honcharenko, Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development at the Lviv Regional State Administration, outlined the main priorities for supporting agricultural producers in the region. In her speech, Lyudmyla Honcharenko paid particular attention to highlighting the main provisions of the recently adopted Government Strategy for the Development of Agriculture and Rural Areas in Ukraine for the period up to 2030 and the operational plan of measures for its implementation in 2025–2027.
Ihor Vuytsyk, Head of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber, spoke during the round table about the implementation of two international research projects supported by the EU, in which two academic staff members from the Department of Enterprise Economics, Innovation and Advisory Services in the Agrarian Sector named after I. V. Popovich will also be involved.
Yaroslav Kardash, Chairman of the Association of Farmers and Private Landowners in the Lviv Region, spoke about new legislative initiatives that are of concern to farmers.
Taras Martyniak, a farmer and representative of the Lviv Regional Farmers’ Association, highlighted problems with the functioning of the State Agrarian Register, which complicates the process of farmers applying for budgetary support.
Participants in the round table discussed other pressing issues aimed at boosting the economic development of agricultural producers through the introduction of innovations.
