On 16 July, a team from the Lviv Agrarian Chamber visited one of the participants in the UN World Food Programme’s Institutional Feeding Programme – the religious organisation ‘Religious Community of the Roman Catholic Church of the Parish of Divine Mercy in the Shevchenkivskyi District of Lviv’.

Ihor Vuytsyk, Head of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber, and monitoring officer Davyd Kravchenko inspected the storage facilities and kitchen, and spoke with the direct recipients of the aid. The visit took place at lunchtime, so the members of the monitoring mission saw dishes prepared from the donated food on the tables. The same dishes were being distributed to those in need who had come to collect hot meals with their own crockery.

The parish priest, Father Rafal Zborowski, spoke about the organisation’s activities, and in particular about the comprehensive support provided to internally displaced persons, as here they receive not only food but also accommodation and clothing. “Participation in the UN World Food Programme’s Institutional Feeding Programme helps to expand our charitable work. With such support, we can help a greater number of people who find themselves in difficult circumstances. Thanks to the Programme, the institution provides hot meals daily to 405 people in need, including over 200 internally displaced persons, so we will make every effort to fulfil the conditions of this Programme. Such cooperation is undoubtedly an act of mercy and care for one’s neighbour,” noted Fr. Rafal Zborowski.
