Grain exports from Ukraine have reached almost 44.5 million tonnes this season

Since the start of the 2023/24 marketing year (July–June), 44,427,000 tonnes of cereals and pulses had been exported from Ukraine as of 20 May. This was reported by ProAgro Group, citing information from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

According to the State Customs Service, grain exports are 166,000 tonnes behind the figure recorded on 24 May last year.

Wheat shipments as of the reporting date amounted to 16,644 thousand tonnes, which is almost 1.4 million tonnes more than the volume of grain exported during the same period last season. 2,334 thousand tonnes of barley were shipped abroad, which is 290 thousand tonnes less than at this time last year. Maize exports amount to 24,964 thousand tonnes, which is 1,666 thousand tonnes less. Additionally, 1.4 thousand tonnes of rye were exported, compared to 17.9 thousand tonnes at this time last year.

In addition, 90.1 thousand tonnes of cereal flour (including 85.1 thousand tonnes of wheat flour) were shipped abroad, which is 48.8 thousand tonnes less than in the corresponding period of the 2022/23 marketing year.

Grain exports since the start of May 2024 total 3,068,000 tonnes, including 866,000 tonnes of wheat, 132,000 tonnes of barley, 200 tonnes of rye and 2,064,000 tonnes of maize. A further 2,600 tonnes of flour were also exported.
