On December 2, a round table was held in Kyiv with the assistance of the Ukrainian Center for European Policy in a hybrid format of participation on the topic: “Moving forward or waiting: is the Ukrainian agricultural sector ready for the ECP and SAP”. The round table was attended by representatives of civil society institutions, scientists, industry experts, in particular, the head of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber Ihor Vuytsyk, representatives of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Lviv Regional State Administration, scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Economics and Business in the Ivan Popovych Agricultural Industry of the Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named after S.Z. Hzhitskyi.
Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Denys Bashlyk and Executive Director of the Ukrainian Center for European Policy Lyubov Akulenko addressed the participants of the round table with an opening speech, who noted the importance of the presented results of sociological surveys of agricultural producers registered in the State Agrarian Register when joining the EU regarding major industry issues.
According to Deputy Minister Denys Bashlyk, the results of the research make it possible to generate the statistical information necessary for presenting the real state of the industry and the readiness of various organizational and organizational forms of agricultural producers to meet EU requirements in the EU branch institutions.
Representatives of public organizations of agricultural producers expressed their own views on certain issues of European integration, in particular related to the system of accounting for land plots used by agricultural producers, environmental requirements for the production of products, implementation of the EU Nitrate Directive.
LAP Chairman Ihor Vuytsyk offered the participants of the round table information about the implementation of the project on combating the spread of Sosnovsky borscht on the territory of Ukraine and Poland within the framework of the Interreg NEXT Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027 program. Implementation of the project will make it possible to strengthen the ecological component of agricultural production and solve urgent problems of rural territorial communities.
