Monitoring trip of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber to Volyn within the framework of the WFP Institutional Nutrition Program

July 28 2025

At the end of July 2025, representatives of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber – the head of the chamber Ihor Vujtsik and the monitoring officer Davyd Kravchenko – made a working trip to the Volyn region as part of the implementation of the Institutional Nutrition Program of the World of the UN Food Program (WFP). The main purpose of the visit was to check the quality of assistance provided to social institutions and to meet the needs of vulnerable categories of the population.

This time the LAP team visited Berestechki territorial community, where a meeting was held with the head of the TG Igor Grudzevych and Leonid Oliynyk. The leaders of the community sincerely thanked the Lviv Agrarian Chamber for the targeted assistance provided to the Social Services Center of the Berestechkiv City Council, which takes care of elderly people in need of constant support. The head of the institution, Olena Ivanovna Misiuk, reported that at the moment there are 46 people in the institution, of which 15 are internally displaced persons from Donetsk, Sumy, and Kherson regions. The manager of the warehouse Myroslava Kryshto familiarized the team with the conditions of product storage, conducting an inspection of the warehouse and the kitchen. She demonstrated compliance with the requirements of the Program regarding the storage of the received products.

The next stop was Lutskyi. geriatric boarding house, to which almost three tons of food was delivered within the framework of the program. The head of the institution Alla Viktorivna Hnatyuk and the storekeeper Natalya Gromyk testified that such support is extremely relevant and valuable for the daily provision of housing for the elderly, including newly arrived IDPs. Mrs. Alla also reported that a total of 148 people live in the institution, of which 30% are internally displaced persons (IDPs). A significant part of these people came from the city of Vovchansk.

A visit was also made to the KNP “Center for the provision of social services of the Volodymyr district” in the village of Lyotnyche, where a warm and meaningful conversation took place with the director of the Center Tetyana Datsyuk, the storekeeper Olena Vovk and other staff. The institution houses people in need of assistance, including internally displaced people from the Donetsk region – the elderly and people with disabilities. The touching atmosphere of the facility, the professional dedication of the staff, and the grateful feedback from patients became a vivid confirmation of how important a job they do every day.

Rudensky did not miss help psychiatric boarding house, which also received more than three tons of food. The institution that cares for people with mental disorders felt real support from the international program and coordination from the Lviv Agrarian Chamber.

“Such visits not only make it possible to check logistics and quality of supplies, but also help establish live contact with communities and heads of institutions. We see a real need, we hear sincere words of thanks, and this gives us motivation to work even more efficiently”, – noted Ihor Vuytsyk.

Unfortunately, the Lviv Agrarian Chamber will no longer be able to continue providing assistance within the framework of the UN WFP Institutional Nutrition Program in the western region, providing timely and high-quality assistance to all who need it. However, we will look for new opportunities to help those in need during Russia’s military aggression against our country.
