Commissioner of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber Velika Bilyna of the Novokalyny territorial community of the Sambir district of the Lviv region entered the history of Ukrainian energy as the first farmer who not only received an official license for the production of biodiesel, but also began exporting it to the countries of the European Union. 

More than 300 documents, an international audit and months of hard work are behind this achievement. On May 15, 2025, his enterprise FG “AGRO CENTER” became the first in Ukraine to receive a license for the production of biofuel.

On July 25, the first tanker with 25 tons of biodiesel made from oilseeds left for the EU. This is not just a supply – it is a new page of alternative energy in Ukraine. It is significant that there are still no other operating licensed biodiesel plants in Ukraine, and the lack of certified laboratories for verifying the quality of biofuel holds back the development of this industry. However, Ivan Kilgan’s experience is an example of faith, perseverance and game-changing action.
