July 1 2025

On June 27, 2025, a team of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber, consisting of the head of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber, consisting of the head Ihor Vuytsyk, the chief accountant Maria Kovalko, and the protection and monitoring specialist Davyd Kravchenko, made a monitoring visit to Zakarpattia Oblast within the framework of the implementation of the World Food Program UN program (WFP) on institutional nutrition.

The first facility to visit was the Communal Institution “Mukachevo Children’s Boarding Home” of the Transcarpathian Regional Council. The team of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber had the opportunity to talk with the director of the institution Vitaly Yakymchuk and the staff of the institution. Living conditions, food and the needs of the pupils were discussed. The representatives of the Chamber inspected the storage facilities, the kitchen, and also familiarized themselves with the organization of meals and keeping accounting documentation. The institution received aid in the form of food products, provided within the framework of cooperation with WFP.

The next point of the visit was the Mukachevo Psychoneurological Boarding School, where the representatives of the cooperating partner of the UN in the Western Region also got acquainted with the conditions of the wards’ stay, the specifics of the staff’s work and the organization of food in the institution. There was a conversation with the staff, namely with dietitian sister Maryna Dido and head of the warehouse Maryana Gazuda.

At the end of the visit, the representatives of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber visited the Dombokiv special school of grades I-II of the Transcarpathian region, where children with special educational needs study and live. The visit made it possible to evaluate the efficiency of product delivery, their storage and further use in accordance with the program’s goals.

Such monitoring visits are an important component of the implementation of the WFP Institutional Nutrition Program in Ukraine. They allow not only to assess the quality of assistance, but also to maintain direct contact with the management and employees of institutions that take care of the most vulnerable categories of the population on a daily basis.

The Lviv Agrarian Chamber thanks its partners for openness, cooperation and joint work in order to ensure decent living conditions for the wards of their social protection institutions, this help is especially important for IDPs during the war.
