The Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is launching a grant program, within the framework of which it will hold an introductory webinar “Grant support for micro- and small-scale producers of agricultural products” for small and micro-producers of Lviv region, Frankiv region, Transcarpathia and Bukovyna.

    In particular, producers of berries, vegetables and aquaculture products from Lviv Oblast, producers of the geographical indications “Hutsulska Ovecha Bryndza”, “Hutsulska Cow Bryndza”, Zakarpattia honey and small winemakers from Zakarpattia Oblast, producers of the geographical indications “Hutsulska Ovecha Bryndza”, will be able to take part in the grant program. “Hutsul cow brindza” from Ivano-Frankivsk and Chernivtsi regions.

    Event participants will be able to familiarize themselves with the grant support program, applications for which will begin in mid-January. In addition, FAO representatives will help participants prepare business plans and provide practical recommendations for filling out an application for grants through the State Agrarian Register.

    The aim of the grant program, which is part of a wider effort within the EU-funded project, is to support the functioning and strengthening of value added chains in agriculture, fisheries and forestry, as well as support their adaptation to the new environment. This is necessary to meet the food needs of the local and displaced population in the west and to solve the problem of food insecurity in other parts of the country in the immediate and short term.
