On January 29, agricultural producers, representatives of financial institutions and public figures of the region in the Lviv Regional State Administration took part in a sectoral meeting dedicated to the support of agricultural producers in 2020. The chairman of the board of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber Ihor Vuytsyk took part in the meeting.

The thematic meeting was initiated by the Ministry of Economic Development. Within the framework of the meeting, Taras Vysotskyi, Deputy Minister of Industry, informed the audience about the planned financial support programs for agricultural producers in 2020, in particular, the features of the programs to reduce the cost of financial resources for farms. These programs make it possible to significantly reduce the financial burden on farmers in terms of interest payments on borrowed loans. In the direction of partial compensation of the cost of agricultural machinery and equipment, it is estimated that UAH 1 billion will be allocated, animal husbandry – UAH 1 billion, credit reduction – UAH 1.2 billion, horticulture and farming – UAH 400 million each. The Ministry plans to publish the final information on the directions of financial support for agricultural producers this year before the hearings at the Agrarian Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on February 11.

Today, the Lviv regional state administration also discussed issues related to ensuring the veterinary and sanitary welfare of domestic animals and avoiding mass infectious diseases, which are coordinated by the Main Department of the State Production and Consumer Service in the Lviv region.
