All 9 target communities of Lviv Oblast have already received the agricultural machinery and equipment necessary to carry out measures to eliminate populations of the Sosnovsky borage, which poses a threat to natural biodiversity and public health.
On May 11 of this year, the Lviv Agrarian Chamber handed over tractors, road mowers and plows to four more territorial communities – Kozivska, Slavska, Skolivska and Skhidnytska. The transfer of equipment took place within the framework of the international technical assistance project “Protection of biodiversity of the cross-border territories of Ukraine and Poland from invasive populations of borscht (Heracleum)”, which is being implemented in the Lviv Region with the support of the Interreg NEXT Poland – Ukraine 2021-2027 Program and the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
The event was attended by representatives of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber – the main partner of the project – Ihor Vuytsyk, the head of the chamber and the project team: Anna Kushchak, Maria Kovalko and David Kravchenko. The Lviv Regional Military Administration was represented by Lyudmila Honcharenko, Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development. Also, in each community, the leaders of communities: Oleg Danylyak (Slavska TG), Vasyl Shchekun (Kozivska TG), Mykola Romanyshin (Skolivska TG) and Ivan Pilyak (Skhidnytska TG) accepted the equipment. Managers and employees of utility companies, who will directly carry out work on the destruction of borschiva, evaluated the technical characteristics of the received equipment, read the operating instructions and received information about warranty service.
«Вище названа техніка та обладнання призначена для підвищення спроможності територіальних громад і буде використовуватися для знищення борщівника. Проєктом передбачено очищення від цієї інвазійної рослини щонайменше 110 гектарів забруднених територій у кожній громаді. За попередньою інформацією територіальних громад орієнтовно така кількість земель є найбільш пораженою борщівником, де виросли цілі плантації а не поодинокі особини. Саме на таких ділянках буде ефективним використання техніки», – зазначив Ігор Вуйцик, голова палати.
Зауважимо, що незабаром матеріальна база цільових територіальних громад поповниться іще двохосними самоскидними причепами, закупівлю яких Львівська Аграрна палата завершить вже 18 травня. Також в рамках проєкту буде придбано потужну машину-робота з автоматичним управлінням, призначену для знищення борщівника у важкодоступних місцях. Вартість всієї техніки та обладнання становить понад 31 мільйон гривень. 10 відсотків цієї суми складає співфінансування надане громадами, а 90 відсотків профінансовано з коштів проєкту.
