On 1–2 July 2023, representatives of the Lviv region’s agribusiness sector, delegates from the Lviv Agricultural Chamber and academics visited the 35th Agricultural Exhibition of Livestock, Feed and Machinery in Sitno, Zamość, Republic of Poland, at the invitation of partners from the Lublin Chamber of Agriculture.
As part of the exhibition, scheduled meetings took place with potential partners of the Interreg NEXT Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027 cross-border project: the President of the Lublin Chamber of Agriculture, Gustaw Jedrzejek; the Vice-President of LIR, Antoni Skura; Veslav Ożendowski, Director of LODR in Koniskowle; Barbara Wrubel, Director of the Department of Ecology and Agriculture of the Lublin Voivodeship; Wojciech Kniazuk, Director of the Lublin Chamber of Agriculture; and Piotr Kurant, Director of the LIR branch in Zamość.
During the meetings, issues regarding the promotion of mutual trade in agricultural products, the attraction of investment, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises in rural areas were discussed. The situation regarding the grain and oilseed market in Ukraine and Poland was discussed with Senator Jerzy Chrostikowski, Chair of the Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development.
Tetyana Hetman, Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development at the Lviv Regional Military Administration, expressed her special gratitude to the entire Polish people for their humanitarian aid in the form of seed stock for farmers, food, hygiene products, generators and other supplies for internally displaced persons. “The Armed Forces of Ukraine and the entire civilised world are making every effort every day to preserve the unity of our state and the inviolability of the EU’s borders,” emphasised the director of the department.
