The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) with the financial support of the Swiss government, provided through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, and the British government implements a business partnership program aimed at supporting the agricultural sector and food production in Ukraine.
The main goal of this partnership is to reduce the negative consequences for small and medium-sized businesses agricultural sector and food production, on the one hand, and on the other hand, the involvement of vulnerable segments of the population in production and sales chains in order to strengthen their role in the local economy.
Projects that DRC plans to implement together with partners should improve the living conditions of the local vulnerable population and increase their income.

Program details:
- the end result of the project should be an increase in the income of the local population in the territory it covers, including through their direct involvement in the production and sales chain;
- the idea of the project should involve expanding the business activities of the partner, which involves the involvement of the local vulnerable population, including internally displaced persons and persons affected by the war. At the same time, the creation of new officially registered workplaces is not mandatory;
- the project must be profitable for the local partner;
- DRC grant amount – up to 20000 USD;
- co-investment by the partner – up to 50% of the total cost of the project. It is possible both in the form of a financial contribution and in the form of other own assets.
Possible business partnership options as an example:
- co-investment in the reception and storage of vegetables. The goal is to support local producers by providing access to the sale of grown products at optimal prices. Such an idea involves cooperation with private enterprises that own, for example, wholesale warehouses, and buy or will buy products from the local population;
- co-investment in projects that would facilitate access to agricultural services for the local population. For example, access to agricultural machinery, veterinary services, agricultural materials (seeds, fertilizers, etc.). Such an idea involves cooperation with local entrepreneurs who work in the agricultural sector.
