The second phase of the FAO and EU grant competition for the Lviv region is open until 31 January 2024

The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) announces the launch of the second cycle of a grant programme implemented with financial support from the European Union (EU).

According to the FAO statement, this strategic initiative aims to support the recovery of Ukrainian farmers facing challenges exacerbated by the impact of the war on the agribusiness sector. 

The FAO and the EU are encouraging farmers in the Lviv region to take part in the second grant cycle. Applications are being accepted via the State Agrarian Register (DAR) until 31 January 2024.

Grant recipients will be required to contribute a certain share of the total costs, and the amount to be covered by the grant recipient will vary depending on the chosen value chain. Grants will be paid in Ukrainian hryvnia (UAH) at the UN exchange rate in the following amounts:

– up to 370,000 UAH (10,000 USD) for small agricultural producers;

– up to 925,000 UAH (25,000 USD) for agricultural micro- and small enterprises, agricultural cooperatives and associations of producers of products with geographical indications (GI).

The second cycle of grant support covers the following value chains, including designations of origin (DO) and protected geographical indications (PGI).

Lviv region: berry growing; vegetable growing; aquaculture; milk production and processing.
