In April, the Lviv Agricultural Chamber visited two communities as part of a humanitarian mission: Sosnytsia in the Chernihiv region and Zno-Novgorodska in the Sumy region.
Representatives of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber assembled and delivered long-life food parcels (18 items) and personal hygiene products for 446 families across the two communities – 223 families from each.
The distribution of the humanitarian kits took place with the active involvement of the Sosnytsia and Zno-Novgorod village councils, which ensured that all those in need received the food and hygiene items.
In the Zno-Novgorod and Sosnytsia communities, several families were unable to reach the aid distribution point due to flooding, so the delivery of humanitarian kits was organised for them using special transport.
Humanitarian aid packages for the Easter holidays were received by the most vulnerable sections of the population, namely:
– internally displaced persons from the temporarily uncontrolled areas of the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia regions;
– families of fallen soldiers who took part in military operations since 2014;
– families of local residents affected by military operations (those who were under occupation, had their homes destroyed, etc.);
– families of people with disabilities.
Everyone was very grateful for this support, as they are in a difficult situation and are in particular need of attention and assistance.
The support is provided by the Lviv Agrarian Chamber in cooperation with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), thanks to funding from the Humanitarian Fund for Ukraine.
