An important environmental project of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber “Protection of the Transboundary Territories of Ukraine and Poland from Invasive Borschivna Populations” was launched.

Works on the destruction of borage will be carried out in 9 territorial communities of Lviv Region and 30 communities Republic of Poland.
On June 26, 2025, a project staff meeting with the heads of the Kozivska, Skolivska, Starosambirska, Strilkivska, Khyrivska communities was held. The meeting was devoted to the consideration of the calendar plan of works under the project.
The head of the project, Ihor Vuytsyk, spoke about the main tasks that will be carried out during the 2 years of the project’s implementation, he emphasized the fulfillment of the communities’ financial and organizational obligations, he informed the participants of the meeting with the list of equipment and equipment that will be purchased and transferred to the communities for the implementation of the borschivnik tasks. provides a comprehensive approach: the creation of an interactive GIS mobile application, as well as the identification of the plant’s genetic and biochemical data antagonistic plants that suppress the growth of borscht. These measures are aimed at finding effective methods of localization and destruction of borscht and monitoring its spread and restoration of natural biodiversity in cleared areas. We hope that thorough scientific research in combination with practical measures will ensure the achievement of the desired result – the determination of the most effective methods of destroying borscht and their practical application. Territorial communities, where the population of this plant is getting bigger and bigger, are waiting for these results,” said Ihor Vuytsyk.
Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Development of Lviv OVA noted that within the scope of the Comprehensive Program for the Support and Development of Agriculture for 2021-2025, the Lviv Agrarian Chamber allocates funds for the project “Protection of the Transboundary Territories of Ukraine and Poland from Invasive Borschivna Populations (Heracleum)”, she told the participants of the meeting about the features of co-financing the project and advised to prepare programs in each territorial community for the purpose of co-financing works on the destruction of borschivna within the project. I would like to emphasize that the project is quite complex and its success depends on the joint efforts of all the partners and the execution of the work, as well as on the preparation of documents and reports.
