Since the start of the 2023/24 marketing year (July–June), 8,020,000 tonnes of cereals and pulses had been exported from Ukraine as of 20 October. This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
According to the State Customs Service, grain exports are 3.5 million tonnes behind the figure recorded on 21 October last year.
Wheat shipments as of the reporting date amount to 4,069 thousand tonnes, which is 300 thousand tonnes less than the volume exported on this date a year ago. 656 thousand tonnes of barley have been shipped abroad, which is almost 300 thousand tonnes less than last season. Maize exports amount to 3,175,000 tonnes, which is 3 million tonnes less. Additionally, 800 tonnes of rye have been exported, 5,400 tonnes less than last year.
In addition, 40,300 tonnes of cereal flour (including 39,000 tonnes of wheat flour) have been shipped abroad so far, which is 8,200 tonnes more than in the corresponding period of the 2022/23 marketing year.
Since the beginning of October, grain exports have totalled 1,267,000 tonnes, including 735,000 tonnes of wheat, 34,000 tonnes of barley and 490,000 tonnes of maize. Furthermore, 4,400 tonnes of flour have been exported since the start of this month.
