Lviv oblast farmers are waiting for a humanitarian shipment from France. It is about 95 tons of seed potatoes of the Agria variety, caliber 35/50, elite E class, which will be transferred to local farms.
This was discussed on April 7, 2022 during a meeting between the deputy head of Lviv OVA Vitaly Zagainy and the cultural and cooperation advisor of the French Embassy Olivier Jacot. The meeting was attended by the Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of LOVA Tetyana Hetman and the Chairman of the Board of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber Ihor Vuytsyk.

Lviv region will be the first region in Ukraine to receive seed potatoes.

“Ukraine and France are two large agricultural countries. There are food security concerns around the world right now. This means that helping Ukraine in the field of agriculture also becomes a priority for France. Our first humanitarian shipment of potatoes consists of 4 truckloads, which Lviv Oblast will receive in the near future,” Olivier Jacot noted.
He also added that the local communities of France constantly transfer funds for humanitarian aid to Ukraine in various fields thanks to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Now any support for Ukraine is extremely important. This also applies to the agricultural industry, because Lviv Oblast must now ensure food security for almost the entire country. We thank France for its offer and the help it constantly provides to our country. In the future, together with the Department of Agriculture, we will work out the needs of our agricultural producers in various types of equipment and hand them over to the French side,” noted Vitaliy Zagainy.
The LOVA Department of Agro-Industrial Development and the Lviv Agrarian Chamber will ensure the transfer of seed potatoes to the final beneficiaries within the framework of the signed Memorandum. It will be received by 20 small farms with an area of no more than 3 hectares.
