In 2024, local authorities in the Lviv region increased financial support for local farmers by 36%
According to the Department of Agricultural Development, this year local authorities in the region allocated 3.8 million hryvnias in budget funds to support farmers – 36% more than last year.
Support programmes for agricultural producers for 2024 have been approved in 10 communities in Lviv Oblast.
Seven local authorities in the Stryi and Lviv districts are providing more active support to their producers. Specifically:
– The Stryi local authority has allocated 290,000 UAH to support family farms and cooperatives;
– Rozvadivska – 60,000 UAH for subsidies to private farms keeping four or more dairy cows
– The Novorozdil community has allocated 20,000 UAH to partially subsidise the cost of artificial insemination for cows and heifers kept on private farms.
-Kamianka-Buzka – 100,000 UAH to reimburse individuals for the costs of maintaining three or more dairy cows
-Kulykivska – 400,000 UAH to support newly established family farms and reimburse the costs of purchasing fodder crop seeds.
-Zhovkivska – 650,000 UAH to support and develop family farming, the beekeeping sector, organic production, and private households raising young cattle.
Lviv City Council has introduced a voucher scheme to support small businesses. These vouchers are provided for the establishment or development of processing enterprises and to veterans and their family members for business start-ups or expansion.
The Radekhiv territorial community in the Chervonohrad district is also supporting the development of its family farms and cooperatives, having allocated 500,000 UAH for this purpose.
