On January 19, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, by Resolution No. 35, approved the Concept of the nationwide target program for the use and protection of land at a meeting.

The program on land use and protection has to change the situation: it will be comprehensively implemented by 2032 and will be implemented in two stages. As a result, the structure of land and agrolandscape will be optimized, plowing of the territory will be reduced by 10%, the productivity of agricultural land will be increased to 50%, the threat to land resources from degradation processes will be reduced, and natural wetlands will be preserved.

Yes, the target application will include:

• development of land management schemes and technical and economic justifications for the use and protection of lands of administrative territorial units;

• land and soil quality monitoring with the creation of a geo-information platform;

• prevention of unjustified removal of agricultural lands intended for non-agricultural purposes;

• protection of lands from harmful anthropogenic influence, reproduction and increase of soil fertility, increase of productivity of forest fund lands, observance of a special regime of use of protected lands.

The target program will ensure the sustainable development of land use, will contribute to the creation of ecologically safe living conditions for the population and management of the economy. Its implementation will allow to protect land from depletion, degradation and pollution, reproduce and increase soil fertility, as well as preserve soil cover functions.
