On January 23, another meeting of the Rural Development and Agro-Industrial Policy Commission of the People’s Council under the Lviv Regional State Administration took place in Lviv. At this year’s first meeting, the issue of the investment attractiveness of the rural areas of the united territorial communities of the Lviv region was discussed.

The Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Lviv Regional State Administration Yuliya Shopska presented to the members of the commission current thematic information regarding the implemented projects in the OTG oblast.

Important legal aspects of investment policy in rural areas were highlighted in their reports by the head of the legal department of the Lviv Regional State Administration, Oksana Kumanska-Nor, and specialists of the Western Interregional Department of the Ministry of Justice, Vitaliy Shepega and Hanna Hnativ.

Ihor Vuytsyk, head of the board of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber, gave a topical report at the commission meeting.

As part of the commission meeting, the issue of the draft law “On Labor” was also considered, which was developed and published by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at the end of 2019. The head of the Lviv regional trade union of workers of the agro-industrial complex, Mykhailo Tarnavskyi, informed the members of the commission about the significant shortcomings of the said draft law and its possible negative impact on employment at the agribusiness enterprises of the region.

Also, at the commission meeting, citizens-residents of Zhovkiv district complained about the impossibility of using a public pasture on the territory of one of the village councils of the district.  The President of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber, Pavlo Muzyka, suggested that the members of the commission, together with the Public Council at the Main Department of the State Geocadastre in the Lviv region, should look into the problem in more detail.
