For the second year running, the Lviv Agrarian Chamber, with the support of the Department of Agricultural Development of the Lviv Regional State Administration and in partnership with the Pausa Café Social Cooperative (Italy), is implementing the social project ‘Bread for Peace in Ukraine’ in the Lviv region.
The project aims to support small farms, including family farms, which use up to 20 hectares of land and are engaged in livestock farming, as well as the cultivation of cereals and vegetables. As part of the project last year, 72 farms received winter wheat seed and grass seed mixtures.
This year, it is planned to provide such assistance to 80 small family farms. The Lviv Agrarian Chamber, in partnership with the Pausa Café Social Cooperative (Italy), purchased 38.5 tonnes of first-generation winter wheat seed and 2.625 tonnes of grass seed mix, totalling over 800,000 UAH. The seeds were supplied by the Institute of Agriculture of the Carpathian Region of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine.
The Lviv Agrarian Chamber has selected the family farms that will receive this assistance.
