The Lviv Chamber of Agriculture took part in a forum aimed at promoting exports by Ukrainian producers

April 1 2025

On 28 March 2025, Ihor Vuytsyk, Head of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber, and Stepan Yatsykiv, the Chamber’s authorised representative for the Drohobych district, took part in the SectorRise Ukraine Forum on promoting exports by Ukrainian producers.

The aim of the forum was to enhance the capabilities of Ukrainian producers of food, clothing and furniture in developing effective export strategies for entering European markets.

The event brought together manufacturers, representatives involved in export promotion and support for industry clusters in Ukraine, international partners and experts to forge new business links and discuss opportunities for Ukrainian companies to enter foreign markets.

Forum participants focused on supporting exports amid the challenges of the war, discussed expanding sales markets and adapting Ukrainian products to European standards, as well as financial and logistical support mechanisms for exporters provided by state and international institutions.

During his meetings with forum participants, Ihor Vuytsyk emphasised the need to expand export opportunities for small and medium-sized farms, which form the backbone of the region’s agricultural economy. He stressed that the Lviv Agrarian Chamber is actively working on establishing cooperation programmes with foreign partners and facilitating the adaptation of Ukrainian products to international markets, citing several successful examples.

In particular, for the third year running, the Chamber, with the support of the Department of Agricultural Development of the Lviv Regional State Administration and in partnership with the Pausa Café Social Cooperative (Italy), is implementing the social project ‘Bread for Peace in Ukraine’ in the Lviv region. As part of the project, over the three years of Russian aggression in Ukraine, 220 farms in the Lviv region have received seed stock. Some of the farms exported wheat and rye flour to Italy, from which bread was baked over a wood fire using old Ukrainian recipes and sold in Italian retail chains. Today, the partners’ Italian counterparts are expecting a delivery of 10 tonnes of premium-grade Ukrainian organic flour.

The Lviv Agrarian Chamber will continue its work in this area, providing farmers with up-to-date information and practical tools for entering foreign markets.

We would like to thank the “Network of Business Information Support Centres” project under the EU4Business: Recovery, Competitiveness and Internationalisation of SMEs”, which is jointly funded by the European Union and the German government and implemented by the German federal company Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, for the opportunity to participate in the Forum.
