Conference participants will discuss topical issues regarding institutional changes in Ukraine’s agriculture during the war; the search for new avenues and opportunities for international cooperation in the agricultural sector; the experience of civil society organisations in achieving positive outcomes from agricultural sector reform; and their influence on the shaping of agricultural policy in Ukraine.
The conference will be attended by: the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, senior officials from the Lviv Regional Military Administration and the Lviv Regional Council, representatives of academic institutions, representatives of international programmes and projects in Ukraine, farmers, heads of agricultural enterprises, and authorised representatives of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber and the Agrarian Chambers of fifteen regions of Ukraine.
Delegations of representatives from the agricultural sector in Poland, Italy, France and the Czech Republic have been invited to attend the conference.
During the conference, it is planned to discuss and adopt an appeal to the President of Ukraine regarding the need to amend legislative acts concerning the conditions for the transfer of agricultural land and the improvement of land use regulations.
A Memorandum of Cooperation will also be signed during the conference to raise legal awareness and inform citizens about the protection of biodiversity in the cross-border territories of Ukraine and Poland from the Sosnowski’s hogweed population, involving nine local communities in the Carpathian region of Lviv Oblast, the Lviv Agrarian Chamber and Lviv National University of Natural Resources.
