A series of themed events took place in the Lviv region to mark Farmers’ Day

On 19 June, the Institute of Agriculture of the Carpathian Region of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences hosted events to mark Farmers’ Day, including a Field Day and a scientific and practical conference entitled ‘Farming 2025: Challenges, Solutions, Opportunities’.

The events were attended by the heads of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber, Ihor Vuytsyk and Pavlo Muzyka, as well as local farmers and scientists.

As part of the Field Day, participants had the opportunity to inspect the condition of crops on the demonstration plots of the Institute of Agriculture of the Carpathian Region of the NAAS, where they were briefed on key technical issues regarding the cultivation of major agricultural crops in the context of climate change.

During the conference, farmers from the region were presented with certificates of appreciation from the Lviv Regional Council, the Lviv Regional Military Administration and the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

Lyudmyla Honcharenko, Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Lviv Regional State Administration; Professor Ivan Parubchak, First Deputy Director of the Institute of Agriculture of the Carpathian Region of the NAAS and Corresponding Member of the NAAS; and Hryhoriy Konik, Chair of the Academic Council of the S.Z. Gzhytsky, Professor Ivan Parubchak, and First Deputy Director of the Institute of Agriculture of the Carpathian Region of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences (NAAS) and Corresponding Member of the NAAS, Hryhoriy Konik.

Lyudmyla Honcharenko, Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Lviv Regional State Administration, informed conference participants about state support programmes for agricultural producers, which enable farmers in the region to transform their production on an innovative basis.

During the conference, Ihor Vuytsyk highlighted the opportunities for farmers to participate in the ‘Agro-Biocircular Hub’ project, which enables the full realisation of the innovative potential of farms at the regional level.

The conference also featured an exhibition of products from companies offering agricultural technology solutions.
