On May 29, the training “Strengthening cooperation between producers and processors of berry and vegetable products through the implementation of a grant program for the support of aggregation models” was held, organized by the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations (FAO) for producers and processors of vegetable and berry products.
The purpose of the event was to unite aggregates and small-scale producers of vegetables and berries to establish partnerships and develop sustainable supply chains in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia and Chernivtsi regions.
Anna Kushchak, deputy head of the Chamber, took part in the event.

Training participants received useful information about the FAO and EU grant support programs for vegetable and berry producers: the results and directions of further cooperation from the project manager, head of the FAO office in Lviv.
Yuriy Oglashenny, an expert on food safety and implementation of food legislation, spoke about the practical aspects of fulfilling the requirements of food safety and quality in the field of plant-based products.
International experience of working with small suppliers of raw materials was presented by Iryna Kukhtina, FAO technical expert on the development of value chains in the berry sector.
Active discussions took place during presentations from aggregators: participants lively discussed the range of products, potential models of mutually beneficial cooperation for building a sustainable supply chain.
