At last week’s meeting, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding the Stimulation of Farming Activities” (draft law No. 4046).
The law establishes a new composition of farm lands – changes are made to Art. 31 of the Land Code of Ukraine.
Farming lands can consist of:
1. of land plots belonging to citizens of Ukraine — members of the farm on the right of ownership, use;
2. land plots belonging to the farm on the right of ownership, use.
It is also established that on the leased plot of land, the tenant has the right, with the written consent of the lessor:
• build residential buildings, farm buildings and structures,
• lay perennial plantations,
• carry out the construction of water management structures and melioration systems in accordance with the approved documentation on land management, urban planning documentation and in compliance with the conditions of the intended use of the land plot in the manner established by law.
In addition, the procedure for providing assistance to farms is clarified:
• farms with the status of family farms are provided with additional state support in accordance with the procedure provided for by the Law of Ukraine “On State Support of the Agriculture of Ukraine”, in particular for the payment of a single contribution to mandatory state social insurance;
• a farm whose head is up to 35 years old (inclusive) is provided with monetary assistance at the expense of the state budget.
