For the third consecutive year, the Lviv Agricultural Chamber, with the support of the Department of Agricultural Development of the Lviv Regional State Administration and in partnership with the Pausa Café Social Cooperative (Italy), is implementing the social project ‘Bread for Peace in Ukraine’ in the Lviv region.
The project aims to support small farms, including family farms, engaged in livestock farming and the cultivation of cereals and vegetables. It should be noted that, as part of the project, over the two years of Russian aggression in Ukraine, 156 such farms in the Lviv region have already received winter wheat seed and grass seed mixtures.
This year, it is planned to provide such assistance to 64 family farms. The Lviv Agrarian Chamber, in partnership with the Pausa Café Social Cooperative (Italy), has purchased 19.2 tonnes of first-generation Benefis variety winter wheat seeds of Ukrainian origin. The seeds were once again supplied by the Institute of Agriculture of the Carpathian Region of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine.
The Lviv Agrarian Chamber is currently selecting small farms to receive this assistance.
The distribution of seed material will take place from 09:00 to 12:00 on 24 September 2024 in the village of Stavchany, Lviv District, at 1 Selektsiina Street, at the research field of the Institute of Agriculture of the Carpathian Region
