Since in 2025 the Institutional Nutrition Program will be more oriented towards helping IDPs, the Lviv Agrarian Chamber is working to cover a larger number of compact residences for internally displaced persons that meet the Program’s criteria.
Mandatory requirements for stipends are the presence of a kitchen, storage space and provision of hot meals to residents. However, in the majority of shelters in Lviv Oblast, IDPs feed themselves, so they are not involved in the Program. The Lviv Agrarian Chamber cooperates with these institutions so that they can establish centralized nutrition for residents and become participants in the Institutional Nutrition Program.
One such shelter, which set up a hot meal, received food for the first time in February. This is the House of Children’s and Youth Creativity in the city of Sosnivka, which was visited on February 20 by the monitoring and protection officer of the National Security Agency, Davyd Kravchenko. ,
The director of the House of Children and Youth Creativity Stepan Sluka said that the shelter has been functioning since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. From 100 to 150 people live here permanently. People mainly from temporarily occupied territories, families with children, elderly people, disabled people.
“There are currently 95 people in the shelter. If at the beginning of the war the residents received a lot of humanitarian aid, there were many donors, but now it is practically non-existent. Help from the Lviv Agrarian Chamber is the only support that our wards can count on today,” said Stepan Sluka.
Deputy director Iryna Matkovska demonstrated the kitchen, dining room, and warehouse, talked about the internal organization of the shelter.
Davyd Kravchenko emphasized that there should be clear control over the use of products, he spoke about storage requirements. “This facility is a vivid example of extending support to people who need help by creating a comfortable environment for their accommodation and food,” David Kravchenko noted.
