On Tuesday, 2 July, representatives of the ‘KOSTIV’ farm, brothers Bohdan and Roman Kostiv, visited the Lviv Chamber of Agriculture.

The “KOSTIV” farm is known for its innovation and the continuous adoption of the latest agricultural technologies. Since 1992, various crops have been grown on the farm’s fields, including winter and spring wheat, winter rye, barley, oats, buckwheat, sugar and fodder beet, potatoes, carrots, table beet, rapeseed, millet, mustard, soya, maize, amaranth, cabbage, parsley, onions and more.
Since 2006, the farm has been engaged in sustainable production that complies with European organic standards and has received the relevant certification.
The head of the farm, Bohdan Kostiv, having learnt of the potential participation of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber in the USAID Programme for Agricultural and Rural Development, proposed using his fields as a demonstration site for practical training sessions for students of Lviv National University of Natural Resources, which acts as a partner of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber within the framework of the project ‘Supporting Sustainable Development in Agriculture through the Establishment of an Agroscouting Centre’.
Ihor Vuytsyk, Head of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber, expressed interest in the proposal and intends to visit the farm to assess its compliance with the requirements of the aforementioned project.
