On 8 October 2024, the Verkhovna Rada endorsed the proposals put forward by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, regarding the Law on the protection of the interests of land share (parcel) owners, as well as the application of administrative procedures in the field of land relations, namely the revised draft law No. 11150 of 4 April 2024. This was reported by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada Secretariat.
The main objective of the Law is stated as:
– to protect the rights of owners of land shares (parcels);
-changes to the regulation of land relations in wartime;
-bringing legislative acts in the field of land relations into line with the Law ‘On Administrative Procedure’ of 17 February 2022 No. 2073-IX.
The document provides for:
– an extension (from 2025 to 2028) of the deadline for registering unclaimed (undistributed) land plots;
-the distribution of land plots among the owners of shares and their heirs of land remaining in collective ownership following the distribution of land plots.
