The Cabinet of Ministers has approved Resolution No. 616 ‘On amendments to the procedures approved by Resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 413 of 23 April 2008 and No. 1003 of 31 October 2012, and on the repeal of certain resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine’.
The document was drafted by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, in accordance with the requirements of European legislation, the resolution updates the list of animal diseases, measures for prevention, containment and, where necessary, the culling of diseased animals at the expense of the state budget. It also provides for reimbursement from the state budget to individuals for the cost of poultry destroyed during the implementation of anti-epizootic measures.
Furthermore, the implementation of provisions on preventive measures will help create conditions for the development of the pig and poultry sectors, generate new jobs, and increase revenue for budgets at various levels.
Anti-epizootic measures are organisational, economic and specialised veterinary and sanitary activities, including preventive and diagnostic measures, aimed at preventing, detecting and eradicating infectious animal diseases.
