November 2 Ministry of Digital transformations Ukraine has started the implementation of electronic notary “Nota”. The first stage of the project – notarial documents with a QR code, the authenticity of which can be checked using the QR scanner in the “Action” application.

    In order to protect citizens from forgery of documents, a QR code check is being launched in Ukraine. It can be on a power of attorney, a vehicle lease agreement, and also on a statement certifying the authenticity of the signature. The QR code is applied to notarial documents both on white paper and on a special form.

    As the Ministry of Digitization explained, an electronic copy of the document can be downloaded with a few clicks for verification and storage using the QR code. You no longer need to make scans or take photos. Electronic copies of notarial documents with a QR code are stored in the e-notary system, and make changes to the text notarized document after uploading it to the system is impossible. Secondly, the formation of a document with a QR code takes place exclusively with the help of the Unified State e-Notary System by notaries performing notarial activities

    In case of unsuccessful scanning of the QR code, the “Action” application will notify you of the problem: there is no Internet, the document is not available in the e-notary system, etc. To check the document, both the owner of the document and the person checking must have the “Action” application installed and access to the Internet.

    Formation of a document with a QR code occurs exclusively with the help of the Unified State e-Notary System by notaries performing notarial activities. The connection of notaries to the electronic notary system occurs gradually. Currently, only notaries of the city of Kyiv can create notarial documents with a QR code, and in the presence of such a technical possibility in the conditions of martial law. Later, notaries from all over Ukraine will join the system.
