The sowing of winter crops is gradually coming to an end in Ukraine. Seven regions of the country have already completed their sowing campaigns, according to ProAgro Group, citing information from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
Over the past week, winter crop sowing has come to an end in the Chernihiv and Chernivtsi regions. Last week, farmers in the Ivano-Frankivsk region completed it, following those in the Poltava, Volyn, Zaporizhzhia and Zakarpattia regions.
As of the first week of November, the total area sown with all winter crops stands at 5,530,000 ha. Over 4,386,000 ha of cereals have been sown, including 3,867,000 ha of wheat, 442,000 ha of barley and 76,000 ha of rye. The increase in grain sowings over the week amounted to 175,000 ha.
Sowing of winter rapeseed has been completed in all regions, with 1,144,000 hectares sown.
