Representatives of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber took part in training for Ukrainian partners of the Interreg NEXT Poland \u2013 Ukraine 2021\u20132027 Program<\/h4><\/div>

Chairman of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber Ihor Vuytsyk and procurement manager David Kravchenko took part in a training on issues of implementation, reporting, cost control, as well as closing the project and requirements for information and promotion, organized for Ukrainian project partners of the Interreg NEXT Poland - Ukraine 2021-2027 program. \n\n\n\nThe event was conducted by the head of the Representation of the Joint Secretariat of the Interreg NEXT Program Poland \u2013 Ukraine 2021\u20132027 Vasyl Khimyak together with the representation team. Representatives of the State Audit Service of Ukraine were also involved in the training, who provided practical explanations on cost control and the verification of project documentation. \n\n\n\n\n>>\n\n\n\n>>\n\n\n\n>>\n\n\n\n\n\n>>\n\n\n\n>>\n\n\n\n\n\n>>\n\n\n\n>>\n\n\n\n\nDuring the training, participants learned in detail the requirements for preparing financial statements and submitting requests for payments through the CST2021 system, the features of confirming expenses, as well as the most common mistakes that occur during the implementation of international projects. Particular attention was paid to issues of communication with national controllers, conducting administrative checks and on-site checks. \n\n\n\nAn important part of the training was the discussion of the procedures for making changes to projects, in particular changes to the budget, schedules for the implementation of activities and other organizational aspects. A monthly meeting of partners of the ZeroHeracleum project was held<\/h4><\/div>

Within the implementation of the ZeroHeracleum international project \"Protection of biodiversity of the cross-border territories of Ukraine and Poland from invasive populations of borscht (Heracleum)\" PLUA.01.03-IP.01-0008\/23, financed by the European Union as part of the Interreg NEXT Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027 Program, another monthly meeting was held on June 22 online meeting of project partners.\n\n\n\nThe meeting was conducted by the head of the main partner of the project, the head of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber Ihor Vuytsyk. Representatives of all partner organizations from Ukraine and Poland took part in the event. During the meeting, the partners discussed the current state of project implementation, the preparation of reporting documentation, typical errors found in the partners' reports, as well as the issue of distributing the next tranche of funding between the partners after the approval of the reports.\n\n\n\nParticipants paid the main attention to the implementation of Work package 2 \"Development of a digital map and a mobile application for monitoring hogweed populations\". The purpose of this package is to create a modern digital system for monitoring the spread of borscht on the territory of 30 Polish and 9 Ukrainian target communities. The use of technologies of remote sensing of the Earth, field surveys, aerial photography with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles and a mobile WebGIS application for the collection and analysis of information is foreseen.\n\n\n\nAs part of a separate working discussion, the head of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber Ihor Vuytsyk held a meeting with the executors of Work Package 2 from the University of Natural Sciences in Lublin (Poland) - Szymon Khmelevskyi and Andrzej Bohniak. The parties discussed in detail the implementation of key tasks of the package, including:\n\n\n\n\npreliminary field data collection;\n\n\n\npreliminary detection of hogweed populations using remote sensing of the Earth;\n\n\n\nfield studies to verify the accuracy of remote sensing results;\n\n\n\naerial photography by unmanned aerial vehicles to clarify the boundaries of borscht populations;\n\n\n\ndevelopment of a mobile application with information about places where borschivna is distributed.\n\n\n\n\nParticipants noted significant progress in the implementation of planned works. THE FARMER’S DAY WAS CELEBRATED IN Lviv Oblast<\/h4><\/div>

Today, on the eve of the professional holiday of farmers, an interesting agrarian event took place on the basis of the Institute of Agriculture of the Carpathian Region of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine - Field Day 2026.\n\n\n\nParticipants in the event were farmers, representatives of agribusiness, scientists, financial institutions, manufacturers of complex fertilizers and plant protection products. The event became not only an opportunity to get acquainted with the latest technologies and achievements of the agrarian sphere, but also a platform for discussing the current challenges and prospects of the industry. \n\n\n\nThe program includes an overview of the institute's demonstration site and a presentation of more than two hundred scientific studies and developments, the conference \"Farming 2026: challenges, solutions, opportunities\".\n\n\n\nThe head of Lviv OVA Maksym Kozatsky addressed the participants of the event with an opening speech. He emphasized the important role of farmers in ensuring the country's food security and thanked them for their daily work. During the event, the representatives of the military administration and the regional council presented medals and awards to the farmers. The organizers made sure that the children were interested. Various competitions and master classes were held: dance, art, hairdressing. Children had the opportunity to ride two small ponies, go down inflatable slides, and see fire, medical and police vehicles.\n\n\n\nAs part of the event, there was a demonstration of first aid, aimed at increasing knowledge and skills in responding to life-threatening situations, and a knowledge contest about the European Union, which promotes the spread of knowledge about cross-border cooperation.\n\n\n\nMs. Anna Rysiak and Agnieszka Ganaka conducted a practical workshop for children \"Invasive plant species - what do they look like, who are they threatened and how can they be avoided?\" during which they told what invasive plants are. At the stand of the ZeroHeracleum project, there were many visual examples of Sosnovsky's borscht: live leaves of the plant, banners with its image, leaflets about the harmfulness of this plant and advice on how to avoid burns. There were also themed colored badges, clothing stickers, key chains and sweets. The children were most interested in two powerful biological binocular microscopes in which they could examine the structure of hogweed leaves and seeds. The children took turns looking into the eyepiece of the microscope and excitedly asked about what they saw. \n\n\n\nFrom time to time, the entertaining atmosphere of the event was disturbed by heavy summer rain, which drove the participants to large tents, where everyone tasted various sweets, sandwiches, popcorn, fragrant burgers and grilled sausages. \n\n\n\nThe event lasted more than five hours and ended with a foam party organized for children by firefighters with the help of two modern bright fire trucks. \n\n\n\n\"Today we had a great opportunity to see how interesting, effective and most importantly - memorable it is to tell children about things important for their life and health. Such educational activities are no less important than practical research or works on the destruction of Sosonovsky borschivka. The educational component of our project is present in both countries - Poland and Ukraine. Polish partners have already started such events, Ukrainian partners are still preparing for them. The participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with practical approaches to increasing the efficiency of milk production, modern technologies for feeding and reproduction of cattle, as well as innovative solutions for organizing the work of farms.During the theoretical part of the event, industry experts presented successful practices of dairy farm management, in particular, regarding the introduction of digital monitoring tools, the use of modern methods of feeding control, increasing herd productivity and ensuring effective reproduction of livestock. WORK ON MAPPING THE TERRITORIES OF THE SPREAD OF THE SOSNOVSKY BORDER POPULATION IS IN PROGRESS<\/h4><\/div>

On May 25, the active phase of implementation of work package 2 \"Development of a digital map and mobile application for monitoring hogweed populations\" began as part of the Project \"Protection of biodiversity of transboundary territories of Ukraine and Poland from invasive populations of hogweed (Heracleum)\", which is implemented within the framework of the Interreg NEXT Program \"Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027\". \n\n\n\nTwo experts on special enduro-class motorcycles, adapted for traveling in mountainous and field terrain, conduct surveys of territories contaminated by Sosnovsky borscht in 9 target communities - project participants. During the survey, experts take photos of the territory using the ArcGIS mobile application specially developed by Polish partners, which automatically records the GPS coordinates of plant locations. Experts also describe their characteristics, indicate the size of the population, the type of landscape. All data entered in the ArcGIS mobile application are displayed on an interactive map in real time. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBefore the beginning of June, preliminary data will be collected on the territories of the mass population of borage in almost 100 settlements of Borynska, Kozivska, Slavska, Skolivska, Skhidnytska, Starosambirska, Strilkivska, Turkivska and Khyrivska communities. \n\n\n\nThe data obtained during the survey will be the basis for forming a digital map of the distribution of the borscht population, which will be used by territorial communities to carry out practical work on the destruction of this invasive plant. Within the implementation of the ZeroHeracleum international project \"Protection of biodiversity of the cross-border territories of Ukraine and Poland from invasive populations of borscht (Heracleum)\" PLUA.01.03-IP.01-0008\/23, financed by the European Union within the framework of the Interreg NEXT Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027 Program, another monthly meeting was held on May 28 online meeting of project partners. \n\n\n\nThe meeting was conducted by the head of the main partner of the project, the head of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber Ihor Vuytsyk. Representatives of all partner organizations from Ukraine and Poland took part in the event. One of the key issues of the meeting was the discussion of field work, data collection and their verification. It was noted that experts are actively conducting field surveys of territories and entering data into an interactive map in Ukraine. On May 20, the Lviv Agrarian Chamber held an educational training for representatives of nine territorial communities of the Lviv region as part of the ZeroHeracleum implementation of the project \"Protection of biodiversity of the cross-border territories of Ukraine and Poland from invasive populations of borscht (Heracleum)\" PLUA.01.03-IP.01-0008\/23, financed by the European Union within the framework of the \"Interreg NEXT\" Program Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027\".\n\n\n\nEmployees of communal enterprises, which will directly deal with the destruction of borage in Kozivska, Skolivska, Slavska, Borynska, Starosambirska, Strilkivska, Turkivska, Khirivska and Skhidnytsia communities, took part in the training. \n\n\n\nThe purpose of the event was to acquaint the persons who will perform practical work with the methods of photo-fixation of the territories of borschivna spread before and after its destruction, to form a report on the completed works according to the methodology provided by the project. David Kravchenko, manager of procurement and communications of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber, told the participants about the procedure for photo fixation in a special application and prepared test tasks for acquiring practical skills, which all participants of the training received. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nA separate block of the training was an instruction on compliance with safety techniques when destroying Sosnovsky borscht. \n\n\n\n\"Sosnovsky's borscht is an extremely dangerous invasive plant: The sap of the plant contains furanocoumarins, which cause chemical burns under the influence of ultraviolet light, and even vapors in contact with the skin cause photodermatitis and long-term damage. Informational event on the experience of implementing the project “Protection of biodiversity of the cross-border territories of Ukraine and Poland from invasive populations of borscht (Heracleum)”<\/h4><\/div>

Today, May 14, the Lviv Agrarian Chamber - the main partner of the project at the invitation of the Representation of the Joint Secretariat of the Interreg NEXT Program \"Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027\" in the city of Lviv held a presentation of the results of its activities on the implementation of the international technical assistance project \"Protection of biodiversity of the cross-border territories of Ukraine and Poland from invasive populations of borscht (Heracleum)\" for all 73 communities of Lviv Oblast. \n\n\n\nThe presentation took place within the framework of the event \"Presentation of grant opportunities of the European Union for the communities of Lviv Region\", which was held under the patronage of the Lviv Regional Council and the Regional Association of Local Councils \"Councils of Lviv Region\". \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe head of the Chamber Ihor Vuytsyk shared with the participants how the very idea of the project arose, about the search for partners and the selection of territorial communities to participate in the project. Therefore, the speaker focused on actual tasks that were managed to be completed within 10 months from the beginning of active activities, namely: \n\n\n\n- the project was presented in 9 target communities of the Carpathian region; \n\n\n\n- a 2-day international scientific and practical conference was held in the format (offline\/online) with the participation of more than 240 participants on the topic: \"Practical application of methods of influence on the population of borscht in order to restore biodiversity in the cross-border territories of Ukraine and Poland.\" As part of the conference, preliminary recommendations were issued, developed on the basis of existing methods of combating Sosnowski's borscht in various landscape zones of the Polish-Ukrainian border;\n\n\n\n- as part of the work package on improving the capacity of the target communities to protect against the spread of the invasive species - Sosnovsky's borage, the main partner of the Project purchased for 9 communities personal protective equipment, equipment and equipment necessary to carry out work on the destruction of borage. The communities received protective suits, masks, hand-held petrol mowers, sprayers, as well as tractors, plows and road mowers. \n\n\n\n- a special ArcGIS mobile application has been developed for collecting data on the distribution of borscht and mapping contaminated areas. \n\n\n\n\"Now practical work on the destruction of borscht will begin in the communities, since all the necessary material base for this has already been created and the plants have already reached a sufficient growth phase. The work will be carried out by communal enterprises of the communities. At the same time, scientific studies of selective methods of influencing the population of borscht will be conducted to develop scientifically based methods of influencing the population of this invasive species on the basis of genetic and biochemical studies.
