Within the implementation of the ZeroHeracleum international project “Protection of biodiversity of the cross-border territories of Ukraine and Poland from invasive populations of borscht (Heracleum)” PLUA.01.03-IP.01-0008\/23, financed by the European Union as part of the Interreg NEXT Poland-Ukraine 2021-2027 Program, another monthly meeting was held on June 22 online meeting of project partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting was conducted by the head of the main partner of the project, the head of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber Ihor Vuytsyk. Representatives of all partner organizations from Ukraine and Poland took part in the event. During the meeting, the partners discussed the current state of project implementation, the preparation of reporting documentation, typical errors found in the partners’ reports, as well as the issue of distributing the next tranche of funding between the partners after the approval of the reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participants paid the main attention to the implementation of Work package 2 “Development of a digital map and a mobile application for monitoring hogweed populations”. The purpose of this package is to create a modern digital system for monitoring the spread of borscht on the territory of 30 Polish and 9 Ukrainian target communities. The use of technologies of remote sensing of the Earth, field surveys, aerial photography with the help of unmanned aerial vehicles and a mobile WebGIS application for the collection and analysis of information is foreseen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of a separate working discussion, the head of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber Ihor Vuytsyk held a meeting with the executors of Work Package 2 from the University of Natural Sciences in Lublin (Poland) – Szymon Khmelevskyi and Andrzej Bohniak. The parties discussed in detail the implementation of key tasks of the package, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participants noted significant progress in the implementation of planned works. According to the results of the discussion, it was confirmed that all the planned measures and results of the package will be completed within the deadlines established by the project by the end of 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Monthly meetings of partners remain an important tool of effective project management, ensure timely resolution of current issues, coordination of joint actions and contribute to the achievement of the main goal of the ZeroHeracleum project<\/p>\n\n\n\n
