Meeting of the Board of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber (LAP)

April 25 2026

On April 24, a regular meeting of the Board of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber (LAP) was held in Lviv, which brought together authorized representatives of the organization to discuss strategic directions for the development of the agrarian sector and partnership initiatives.

The main issues of the agenda:

Innovative model of sustainable agriculture

President of LAP, doctor of economics, professor of Lviv National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology named after S.Z. Hzytsky Pavlo Muzyka presented a vision of new approaches to the management of agrarian policy in the context of future EU reforms. Special attention is paid to the challenges of climate change and geopolitical factors affecting the food security of Ukraine in the post-war period. All present members of the board joined the discussion.

The most telling thing is that the agricultural sector is no longer considered in isolation. It becomes part of a wider system that integrates climate policy, biodiversity, land management, finance and innovation. Shifting the emphasis on how to implement it in practice is especially valuable. Here we are talking about new financial instruments, partnerships, intersectoral interaction and effective management models, Dr. of Agricultural Sciences, professor, academician of the National Academy of Sciences Hryhoriy Sedilo noted in his speech.

Signing of the memorandum with “Caritas-Lviv UGCC”

An important step was the conclusion of a memorandum of cooperation between the LAP and the “Caritas-Lviv UGCC” charity organization. The document was signed by the president of LAP, Pavlo Muzyka, and the director of Caritas-Lviv UGCC, Fr. Andriy Seneyka. Cooperation is aimed at supporting social initiatives, holding joint educational events and community development. The executive director of “Caritas-Lviv UGCC”, Vasyl Zelenko, briefly presented the main areas of the fund’s activities, including support for socially vulnerable categories of the population, assistance to internally displaced persons, community development and support for entrepreneurship. He paid particular attention to agricultural programs aimed at the reintegration of veterans and support for their families, including support for the training of beekeeping specialists and the training of baking specialists.

Cooperation with the Lviv Regional Association of Employers’ Organizations (LOOOR)

LAP Chairman Ihor Vuytsyk and LOOOR Deputy Volodymyr Kryshtal presented a joint action plan. This opens up new opportunities for the integration of agrarian business into regional economic processes. To coordinate the work, the Lviv Agrarian Chamber delegated its authorized representatives to work in the agricultural commission, these are our farmers Taras Martyniak and Andriy Voytovych.

Transparency and efficiency of financial activities confirm the trust of partners and donors. It was for this purpose that the board reviewed and approved the Report on the use of income (profits) of the LAP non-profit organization for 2025.

In the “Miscellaneous” section, the head of LAP Ihor Vujtsyk presented a new initiative within the Horizon program – the project “Climate-resistant protein crops for mountain and foothill agro-ecosystems”. The goal is to provide farmers with certified seeds and scalable solutions for sustainable development in difficult natural conditions, especially in the Carpathian region.

The meeting of the Board became an important stage in the formation of strategic priorities of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber. The adopted decisions and new partnerships will contribute to the development of the agricultural sector, the strengthening of social support and the integration of Ukraine into the European area of sustainable management.
