Within the implementation of the AGRI-BIOCIRCULAR-HUB project, a working meeting of partners was held, dedicated to the discussion of task 6.2 of work package 6. The main goal of the meeting was to coordinate approaches to the formation and development of three key types of demonstration institutions that will play an important role in the formation of regional research and innovation (R&I) ecosystems.
The event was attended by the head of the Lviv Agrarian Chamber Ihor Vuytsyk, LAP experts Hanna Kushchak and David Kravchenko, Volodymyr Zhuk – representative of the Lviv Polytechnic National University, coordinator of work package 5, professor of Czestochovy Polytechnic Krystyna Malinska, Tetyana Partyka – candidate of biological sciences, head of the laboratory of agrochemistry and analytical research of the Institute of Agriculture of the Carpathian Region of the National Academy of Sciences and other partners.

Participants focused on creating a collaborative network of living laboratories, test and pilot farms. Such a network is designed to demonstrate practical business cases of innovative agro-food production, in particular with the use of biofertilizers and biocyclic models.
These demonstration institutions are expected to serve as examples of effective development of R&I ecosystems in developing regions and promote the dissemination of best practices. The expected result is the creation of a single network of living laboratories, test and pilot farms – at least three in Ukraine.
The relationship with work package 5 was also discussed during the meeting. Its implementation involves the provision of innovation grants for small and medium-sized enterprises.
In particular, it is planned to support 12 SMEs (4 in Ukraine), each of which will receive funding in the amount of EUR 50,000 for the implementation of their own innovative project. The participants of the meeting emphasized the importance of involving enterprises and farms to participate both in the network of demonstration institutions and in the grant program. Potential participants will be invited to participate in the competitive application and implementation of innovative cases. During the meeting, it was proposed to introduce the practice of granting the status of an associated partnership for enterprises and farms that will join the project. This approach will contribute to the formalization of cooperation and increase the interest of stakeholders.
Implementation of the tasks of work packages 5 and 6 will be an important step in the development of innovative bioeconomy, strengthening of intersectoral cooperation and formation of sustainable regional ecosystems.
